Zoo Camp

This week, Luke & Emry are attending the summer school camp at the local zoo. They didn't like getting up early on Monday, but this morning they were up and dressed before I was out of the shower!! So awesome!! I love it when my kids are excited about life! Here are some of the things they are doing...

- spent time in the zoo library learning about animals

- toured the zoo

- made fruit kabobs for the bats, and then fed them

- they saw the huge pile of horse meat for the lions and tigers

- got to see how the veterinarian takes care of the sick animals and the babies

- a new tiger was delivered yesterday and today was his first day in his new enclosure

- collected peacock feathers

- cleaned up chimpanzee poo

- ps, the chimps have a tv in their room for learning. They are as smart as a 4 year old. Luke waved to one and she waved back.

- said, "hola" to the parrots and they talked back!

- Played in the sprinklers

- and rode on a train.

much more to come tomorrow.....stay tuned!

Love these shot of my kids

I wanted photos of my kids to hang in my living room.
I wanted them to be black & white.
I wanted them to look very natural.
I wanted them to show the kids' personalities

....I think we nailed it.

Random summer iPhone photo dump

The kids have taken over my iPhone! I had to share a bunch of their recent handiwork!!

still living!
on any given summer night these little fellas can be found our in our backyard.
this should be horizontal, but i'm feeling too lazy to fix it.  we played pictionary with emry and this is her version of "speaker phone".  first she drew the outside speaker which i thought was genius (they still have this kind of speaker at her school here in Spain.  it's out on the playground and they play music during recess).  then she drew the table and cell phone.  i was totally confused until i realized how her brain was processing the word.  our poor children are growing up in such a rapidly progressing technological age, it's amazing to me.  i had to stop and laugh when i realized the only type of phone she knows is a cordless or cell phone!
