I've been thinking a lot about how to help my kids grasp this concept and today I got my answer while I was checking out the crafty crow site. I found the most darling activity for the month of November! This family hangs up one tree for Thanks and one for Giving and each day of the month they put up a new leaf that tells what they are thankful for or what they have given to help others. Wonderful! By the end of the month you tree is full of leaves and you have a visual representation of true gratitude!
I printed out the trees and leaves today and today after school we're going to start this activity! It's from the site, Chocolate On My Cranium, she's got a lot of great resources on her blog, so check her out. I'll update the project as the month goes on.

Great idea for Thanksgiving! Thank you for pointing this one up. I want to change it up a bit and do it with my YW besides the fam.
Thank you Millie for always leading the sister pack in fun, crafty adventures. I need it.
Love this idea!!!
What a great way to capture the true meaning of Thanksgiving! Thanks for sharing Millie.
I checked out "The Crafty Crow" site as well... I know where I'll be going for future craft ideas.
Millie you are always on top of all things creative! Way to go!

I'm thankful for Millie's blog!
That is awesome! I am at least going to look up that project and try to do it.
I printed these out earlier this week. Thought it was a good FHE idea!!!!
Thanks for this idea Millie. We did this for FHE Monday night but changed it just a bit. I just made one big tree on a poster board for all of us to use and called it "Our 'thanks' & 'giving' tree" Brielle is loving being able to put 2 leaves on the tree every night. Once again Millie you have passed on another great idea! Thanks!!!
i like this idea, i was going to do something sort of like this at thanksgiving dinner but this is much cuter and i like the giving end of it. i think i'll head over and get a copy for myself.
I'm so glad others are liking this idea enough to do it too! The response to the Thanks and Giving Trees has been amazing. Thanks for passing along the link! You're a sweet♥.
