I didn't do a very good job keeping up with my mommy school, or posting about it this summer. Originally I looked around for camps to sign my kids up for, but they were all more $$ than I wanted to spend. I asked around to some of my friends and found 2 that wanted to do a summer art camp for our kids!!!
We each took a day and then planned a few art projects to fill up our 2 1/2 hr block of time. The kids had so much fun. They really looked forward to camp each day! Here is what we did.
Day 1 -my house
We made glue/pastel drawings, traced our shadows with sidewalk chalk, decorated shrinky dinks (which were harder to make then it should be) and ate grape jello jigglers.
Day 2 -Jenny's house
The kids made animal mosaics, paper lanterns and food art (with veggies & fruit).
Day 3 -Kami's house
The kids decorated "art camp" shirts for each other, made pudding art, and finger puppets.
I was impressed by Emry's creativity. When we were tracing our bodies, all the kids laid down on their backs except her. She laid on her side and put her arms and legs into such a position so that they could both be seen. I thought that she was showing some real ingenuity!
