Halloween 2010

I will be the first to admit that my Halloween efforts this year were less than impressive.  We still managed to enjoy ourselves though.  Emry did ask me why I didn't decorate the house...I told her, "next year we'll do better".  In the end we carved our pumpkins, made graveyard dessert and went trick or treating with friends, turned out really nice!

The design session.
We enlisted Grandpa's help.  He was speedy...fastest carver this side of the Mississippi!
Luke loved pulling the guts out of his pumpkin, he thought it was sooo cool to feel the slime!!
Emry tried to get into pumpkin carving.  Her attention span lasted about 5 minutes after she realized she was expected to pull out the guts of her own pumpkin.

Carley didn't even try.  She took one look at the inside of the pumpkin and absolutely refused to put her hand anywhere near the insides!!  Emry tried to coerce her to just touch it....nope, no way, now how...she wasn't going to do it.

After a few handfuls of guts and slime...Emry abandoned her pumpkin and the kitchen all together.  Both girls went upstairs to play polly pockets.  Luke was more than happy to help them out.  He ended up with pumpkin innards up to his elbows...it was a proud moment for him!!

We've made this graveyard dessert for the last few years every October.  This year they were big enough to do a lot of it themselves.

I had to post all these pictures of the kids in costume.
Luke was cracking me up in these photos...such a little actor!
He was really turning on the hamm!!

See you next year Halloween!!
