Since Emry's birthday will be just after we arrive in Spain I decided to throw her a small "going away/bday party" here before we move. I thought, since she is such a creative little girl that we should do something along those lines. As I thought about what to plan, I saw a lady I knew that decorates cakes and the whole event just popped inside my head!
I arranged for Corinne, the cake lady, to make a small cake for each girl that would come pre frosted. Then she would instruct them and help them to let their creative juices flow on decorating them. We also decide that we'd go to the salon and get the girls' nails done, which Emry has been dying to do again ever since Trent had hers done in Palm Springs.
Emry invited her two good friends, Mariah & Adia and then we went online and she picked out an apron for each girl. Party supplies were purchased, the house was cleaned...and the rest is birthday party history!!!
From the moment the girls arrived until the door was shut it was non stop chatter! It was pretty cute to listen to them. First we drove to the nail salon and the girls had to pick out nail color...let me tell you it was hard for them to choose! At first, they all wanted to have the same color, but they couldn't agree. In the end, they each decided on a different color.
After we arrived back home, the girls helped me set the table while I cut up the fruit. They made fruit kabobs and gabbed about things little girls gab about, they giggled and they ate! It was awesome, they really loved it.
Then it was time to decorate!!
It was a riot to watch! They were into it 110%! They were completely serious and loving every minute of it. They decorated the cakes with so much stuff that they barely fit into the boxes to take home! They were covered with frosting, literally, from head to toe. I was glad I'd gotten them aprons.
"Best birthday party ever" is what I heard from all the girls. I'm so happy they had a wonderful time and that Emry will have this special memory to keep forever of her little friends here.

You are the bestest MOM, Millie!
Wow, Millie! That is so awesome! I see where Emry gets her creativity from. I remember having a cookie decorating party before Christmas at Katie Glynn's house & loving it. Good luck in Spain!

Adia was talking about "the best party ever" for days afterwards! After seeing the finished products, I was excited to see the "creative process"!! It was an awesome birthday idea. Great job, Millie, and Happy Birthday to Emry. :)
