I don't know what it is about these two cartoons, but I humbly bow to their creators! My kids will stop anything and tune in, paying total attention to the TV when they hear either theme song. Some of you are probably cursing my mothering skills now that you know I let my kids watch, or veg out, in front of the tube. I tell you what, I love to cook and the only way I get a healthy dinner on the table that satisfies my culinary tastes is to sit my kids in front of the TV for a little tivo'd magic time while I cook! What would I do without my DVR,
I can't believe I even existed without it. Pathetic, maybe, but I'm one happy mom today!One more plug. I love to listen to these cartoons in the background too. They aren't annoying to me. I think Gerald Mcboing Boing is hilarious and the jingles that they come up with for the Backyardingans are just too great. My kids even sing them after they've watched them. I love that the cartoons are purely creative and about using your imagination. No name calling or anything to raise an eyebrow at, just pure creativity...gotta luv it!

My thing is that I like to eat in peace. Everyday at lunchtime, I feed them and then on the TV goes. I know I have a solid 1/2 hour until they come whining at me again. I use Tivo and library DVD's all the time to have some peace and quiet. I truly don't know how our mothers did it either.
The backyardagains is one of our/my favorites as well. The girls were uniqua for Halloween a couple years ago, and hardly anyone knew what or who they were, but they loved being who they were.
We are a big fan of the Backyardigans gang as well, I love their songs... and I too love cooking in peace, usually thats when Ty gets in a little cat nap too!
Hi Millie! This is Kasci (Roxi's sister). I don't know if you remember me, but Roxi and Ephraim just started a blog. They had your blog listed so I decided to check it out and say hi! And I really wanted to see how beautiful Emry's hair is. Roxi is always saying how gorgeous her hair is. AND SHE'S RIGHT! What a cute little girl. All your kids are cuties! I have a little red-head boy, too! He hasn't found cartoons interesting yet! DANG IT! So I haven't quite experienced these incredible "sanity saving" shows but I'm desperatly awaiting that time!
