Christmas Eve

 

Grandpa May read the Christmas story from the bible. 

The kids got to open up a gift from Gpa/Gma May.  They got flashlights!  They were super excited about them!  I think Grandpa was really excited too b/c now maybe they'll leave his alone...maybe.

 I ended up putting Carley to bed right after this b/c she'd had all she could handle.  She was acting a little sick, mild fever and asked to be put to bed.  I felt bad for her to miss out on Christmas Eve, but she's still little and doesn't know what she's missing.  It turned out to be a false alarm, she was just fine in the morning.

We let Luke & Emry open up gifts from Gpa/Gma Price.  They were so happy to open up something early and played for a long time with their gifts.  Thanks Merlin & Joy!!

Christmas Morning

The kids didn't wake up too early.  They were rearing to go down and get their stockings by 7:30am.  Grandma May made ebelskivers for breakfast and the kids played with the trinkets they got from Santa.  Around 9am they could wait no longer and we opened gifts.  It was a lovely morning!

Carley was really overwhelmed with the entire opening multiple gifts thing.  She mostly sat by my side playing with her Ariel doll saying things like, "This is the best gift ever!"  "Oh, I needed this!"  "I am so happy!"  we even thought she was going to start crying from pure joy at one point.  It was special to see her reaction and realize that she was so happy.  Made my Christmas.

My Dad has been exceptional with Luke this year.  He's always willing to let Luke follow him around and he's even taken him to a few auctions...now it's Lego time!

Emry has wanted this baby Ariel doll since we got our Disneyland passes.  We had planned on going to DL one more time before we moved, but things got so hectic, we just couldn't make it.  She of course was heart broken about it.  I wasn't surprised when it showed up on her Christmas list.  I was relieved to find the doll online and was super excited for her to open it.  She was convinced that it was one of her gifts under the tree and was telling everyone.  I'm glad I was able to come through for her b/c she would have been completely devastated if it hadn't been there.
