The Ocean, Take Two

This was a trip to the beach, but we only went to explore the jetty! My kids love going to the jetty to explore and run free. We always find cool sea creatures, rocks, crabs, fish, etc. One time we even saw an octopus in the water! I knew Ali & Hugo would love it too, so we had to go.

When we left our house the skies were sunny and bright. However, on the way there the marine layer came in and it was overcast, windy and chilly at the jetty. We were troopers and decided to explore anyway!

This is a favorite spot of mine to bring my kids.
This is where we go when I take the kids to the beach without Trent.
I can set up shop anywhere and they just run in between the jetty and rocks! The beach here doesn't have the huge waves or an undercurrent like the other side of the jetty has
...this water lazily laps onto the shore all day long.

This is my plea for a new lens...this could have been a national geographic shot!
but
N000
,
I don't have telephoto lens, and this snowy egret is not going to let me get any closer. So, on my wish list is first a macro lens (I already have one picked out)
and then a telephoto lens....it may take a while, but I'm saving my shekels!

This is one of those "caught it on camera" type of shots! I was going to take a picture of Hugo exploring with his mom in the background, but just as I was about to click, he fell!
He wasn't very happy, but it didn't slow him down for long.

Here's my sister, Alissa Baptista, taking a picture of the damage.

My sister's always taking shots like this, so I had to include one in my post.

Up on the jetty we were lucky enough to see some boats bringing in a marine aquatic vehicle
(I have no clue what it's called, but it goes on both land and water).
Hugo was mesmerized by it, he totally loved it!

This was soooo cute. Hugo didn't want to hold his mom's hand, just mine!

Aaargh Matey!
We also spied this "pirate" ship coming in to the harbor.
Luke and Hugo thought it was totally something to behold!

The small kids couldn't climb down the jetty to explore,
so Trent delivered and brought up a starfish for the kids to see.

I climbed down to get a shot of this one.

To end the day and to warm up.
We headed home to sit by the fire and eat roasted hot dogs & s'mores! Yummy!

Emry is so gosh darn beautiful. There is a Circuit City going out of business in town. You should send me the list of the lens you like and I could see if they are on deep discount... I think the discount is up to 30% now. Let me know!

The Cronicles of Tapa...the cat.
