We got up early for a full day of site seeing...we piled everyone into cars and headed to Ronda for the day. We parked and had breakfast a cafe on the main pedestrian street. The kids weren't to wild about the "tostada con tomate" or the "tortilla de patata" but I loved them!
Ronda is the home of Spain's oldest bullring. It's still in use and has a super neat museum.
It was HOT...time for ice cream!
We oohed and awwed at the bridge and then continued our journey. We walked and walked and walked, like the pioneers crossing the plains (at least that's what it seemed like to the kids). We visited the gardens at the old Moorish King's house.
Enjoyed a lovely city view...
And then hiked down a lot of stairs, the kids were keeping count, but I've forgotten. The stairs were built by slaves and go all the way down the gorge to the water. It was a lot of stairs, but the air was cool, so we didn't mind.
Once at the bottom, we oogled at the fish in the water.
Everyone was exhausted and hungry and crabby, but they let me go into one special shop so I could purchase a bowl! I love it! Then we made our way back across the bridge, past the bullring and up the pedestrian street. We ate lunch at a small cafe and it was delicious. It was Annika's birthday and the waiter went to another store just to buy her candles for her dessert, it was so nice!
Later that evening Trent & Todd tried to catch a bullfight, but ended up being late. They missed the fight, but saw the King of Spain! Not as exciting, but still cool.
