Summer '09 Road Trip-Stop #1

We are currently on a 3 week long summer road trip! I am probably the craziest mother on the planet for taking this beast of trip on, but now that I'm in the throws of it...I can say I'm glad we did it and we're having FUN!!!

Before we left I was very nervous, I even shed some tears. Trent had to give me a pep talk before leaving. It turns out that so far my fears were unfounded. The kids have been excellent travelers. They've been great on all our drives. They were even ok when we found out that the hotel pool in Nebraska was closed, after we'd been promising them a swim all day. So over the next few days I'm going to be posting what we've been up too!

Stop #1

The Moon residence-Highland, Utah

This is my friend Amy & her daughter Grace.
Brandon & Amy were gracious enough to allow us to crash their gorgeous pad for 2 nights!
Our kids hit it off immediately. I wish I'd take a better picture of her daughter Maggie & Luke b/c they played non stop the entire time we were there. Emry & Carley were mesmerized with Maggie's toys...dress up galore (what more do little girls need?).

Amy is so cool! We met while working for the Cougar Club at BYU. She organized a little get together of our old co-workers, all of whom live pretty close by. It was so fun to see everyone and I was happy to see how easily we all fell into conversation. Those are the best types of friends! Don't even get me started on the food everyone brought! So yummy!

Since we last saw each other, our group has grown...it was great to see everyone's kids!
(even when they got into a little mischief....all I have to say is cemetery! my kids are still talking about it.)

From right to left...Brigham, Jolie, Brooke, Emry, Carley, Kailee, Grace, Maggie & Luke

"Cougar Club Party, minus the pregame briefing"

I loved staying up into the wee hours of the morning chatting, I haven't done that with a girlfriend in a long time...it felt really great! Thanks for everything Brandon & Amy!!!
