The Parker residence-Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin
We couldn't make a trip across the country without seeing Great Grandma Marge! We had a wonderful visit and my kids did a great job minding their P's & Q's!! I have fond memories of my grandma's house and I was excited to make some new ones with my kids. Being at her house makes me feel happy. She's a great lady and I'm lucky to have her in my life. She's also the one who introduced me to cooking and how much fun it could be!

Great Grandma Marge & Emry snuggling in the morning.

My grandma's house is surrounded by her little gardens.
She has flowers here, herbs there, raspberries around the side of the house....etc.

Here are Liz & Keegan coming down on the dock to check things out.

Luke & Emry enjoyed exploring the riverbank, watching the fish jump and throwing whatever they could find into the water.

My grandmother likes to paint these birdhouses. She's painted dozens of them.
They're not meant to be outdoors in all types of weather,
but she puts the ones she doesn't like outside.
Luke was so excited that some of them had nests in them.
He spent most of his time peeking inside them.

While I was in the planning stages of our marathon journey,
I decided to check out the local photographers and get a generation picture taken for my girls.
I snapped a few while the photographer was off with Luke & Emry.
It was so fun, and special. I'll post them when I get them.

You are seriously The Woman for doing this trip with your kids and without Trent! All of your landscape pictures need to be on Etsy. No kidding.
I wish Grandma could see this post--or, did you show her? I'm SO WANTING or rather wishing that I could be there with you guys. Ho hum. I can't afford it, but I'm considering a trip in Sept to see Grandma, etc.
Now on to reading the rest! :)
