califa resturant-moroccan

During Christmas break we went for a few day trips to explore the pueblo blancos that were semi-close by.  One of them was Vejer.  I can't put my finger on the reason, but it has become my very favorite white hill town.  It's small, quaint, clean and simply gorgeous.  It also has something else that is really special.  If you go into the Califa hotel off the main square, near the fountain, you'll find in the basement the best Moroccan restaurant on the planet!  You have to go down a few flights of stairs, which feels strange, to get into the old part of the building....so worth it.  The building dates from 1527, and includes parts from the 11th Century.  The ambiance is perfection and the food mouth watering delicious!

with Andy & Judy, of course
