Daytrip to Cadiz

This morning we dropped the kids off at school and headed down to Cadiz for the day.  We ate breakfast at a cute cafe and walked around the beautiful city.  It was so nice to be out and about today.  It always feels good to be out and mixing with the locals.

We walked through the beautiful park along the ocean before we headed into Plaza de Mina to see the Museum.

These are Phoenician anchors.  translation = really, really, super duper old anchors!

So typical of Wayne May...funny!
gorgeous pottery

jewelry, jugs & mosaics...Oh My!!
statuary and sarcophagi

After viewing the museum we headed down to the market so my parents could get an idea of what a typical shopping day is for the locals.  They don't have large refrigerators in their homes like we do.  They do most of their grocery shopping on a daily basis.  Everything was so fresh, it was a good day to be at the market. (ps, in case you're wondering, that's a monk fish)

Finally we made it down to the Cathedral which is so beautiful.  I love the colors and the setting couldn't be more perfect...beautiful!
