Roma City Walk & Pantheon

This morning we ate the most expensive breakfast EVER!  64 euros for: 5 hot chocolates, 5 croissants, 4 plain egg omelets (and when I say plain I mean nothing but egg) and 2 cokes.  Outrageous!  I guess we won't stop there again.

After the shock wore off, we went to see the Natural History Museum.

We were going to walk from the Piazza del Popolo down to the Pantheon, but the city had a transportation strike and our bus that was working, had to take a detour because of a protest.  The down side was that we wasted a lot of time.  The up side was that we got to see parts of the city we weren't planning on seeing and we got dropped off right at the Piazza del Popolo, so not too shabby.

We walked down the main drag of the city and people watched, window shopped and listened to the street performers.  We saw the impressive column of Marcus Aurelius.

These guys were one of the better street performers that I've seen.  When you put $ in the can they all started laughing and chuckling, it was infectious....you couldn't help but smile!

We saw the Trevi Fountain.

And finally made it to the Pantheon.

A picture of the police, keeping the peace...just in case.

By this time of day, the strike was over and all the different modes of transportation around the city were once again humming a long.  We took the bus over to Piazza Navona and enjoyed ourselves some crepes, gelato and sunset.
