Impromptu Photo Session

While Trent and I were getting ready for church today
we heard little giggles coming from the side of our bed....upon investigation we found
our children huddled together having a giggle fest!

I quickly grabbed the camera and for the next 3 or 4 minutes tried to take a decent shot. The pics didn't turn out...they're blurry...all of them. Half my fault & half the kids' fault & a smidgen Dad's fault for making them act even sillier. They were being so cute and silly that the laughter seemed a bit contagious and had us all going at one point.

What I love about these photos is that they show the true personalities of my kids. They aren't posed or perfect, just happy, crazy, carefree, hysterically giggling kids....MY KIDS!!!

Family Visit--Bryce & Tawnya

Bryce, Tawnya, Tucker & Haylie came to visit for a few days! We didn't do to much besides sit around and let the kids play! The cousins ran non-stop from the moment they got here until they left. We walked around the avocado grove, picked fruit, went to the beach and saw the seals. It was a nice visit. We're so glad they came!!!

Random Sampler

We've been keeping ourselves busy as always so I haven't posted much over the past few weeks. Here's a random sampler of some of the things we've been up to.

My sister Maggie came down for a quick visit and some much needed R&R. I'm not sure how much R&R she got, but we sure had a good time having her for a visit.

A few weeks ago, we got a babysitter for the kids.
When I went in to check on the girls before I went to bed, this is what I found.
I guess Emry couldn't decide which animal to sleep with so she slept with them all! What a weirdo! I started to laugh when I saw what she'd done and had to snap a quick shot.

Our babies have all grown up and left the comfort of their little home.
They are no longer living in the owl house as of last Sunday.
I have to admit it's a little sad. BUT they haven't gone far.
They are still in the yard b/c we can still hear them screeching all night long for their mother to hurry up with that food!! I hope we'll have another batch soon,
it was so fun to watch them grow!

Last Sunday Trent stayed home from church because he'd had a really terrible call night, so I willingly left Carley home with him!! Well, apparently they played beauty shop. When we came home, she was still in her church dress and had had her hair curled and lip gloss put on and pictures taken! WAY TO GO DAD!!!

School's almost out for summer!

Luke only has 24 days of school left until summer vacation. He has an open house at school coming up and I know I'm going to get some samples of his best work, very exciting. In the mean time, I've been collecting a few gems of my own. Here is my very favorite one from this year, along with Luke's 1st grade school photo & Emry's preschool photo. (don't feel bad if you didn't get one, we got them back just before Christmas and our big move...so nobody got one)
Translation:
I wish I had 100 bruthers (brothers).
I wish I could eat 100 peses of petsus (pieces of pizza).
I wish I could see 100 dallrs (dollars).
I wish I had 100 ies (eyes).
But I'd never want 100 sistrs (sisters)!!

Diagram Of A Sleepy Girl

A- Some definite bed head. Crazy, unruly, matted locks.
B- Red cheek, from sleeping on that side.
C- This has nothing to do with sleep, but she has a fat lip from an earlier run in with a chair.

The Cronicles of Tapa...the cat.

OK Cat lovers of the world explain this....we're going on vacation and wanted to board our cat, but they wouldn't take her unles...
