Italy Vacation - Day 3

Today we braved the drive into Napoli!  I have to give Trent a lot of credit because we had a few scary moments, but he got us in and out of town without a scratch or dent!!

Today is museum day.  Our first stop was The National Archaeological Museum.  This is where most of the artifacts from Pompeii & Herculaneum are housed.  We loved seeing all the frescoes, sculptures, mosaics and kitchen wares.  They even had some doctor tools, which Trent found interesting.   After lunch we walked through the Capodimonte Museum.  This museum was full of artwork from the 14th century and lots of sculptures.  We were mostly impressed by the marble work on the statues.  The artistry and amount of time and effort that went into creating such statues must have been incredible.

We weren't able to take photos inside the museums, but you can come along with us on our walk through Naples.

a very gorgeous church we passed

This is the Capodimonte Museum.  It was once the hunting retreat of the Prince

we walked all the way down this street and up a gargantuan hill to this summit to get to the Capodimonte Museum, it was a hike and a half!
