Every day for 1 hour we have Mommy School. It's a time when we turn off the tv, put the toys away and learn something new. Normally we have a scripture story, sing songs, play a quick game (usually Simon says, my kids just can't get enough), have a short lesson and do an activity of some sort. Today, we shook things up a bit and only did an art project. I found this cool idea on the cookie mag, nesting blog this morning and fell in love. Off to Michaels we went to get supplies, the kids were pretty excited to pick out their own paint color and who doesn't love to wander around a craft store? The project itself was inexpensive and super fun. I laid out newspaper and let the kids go to town painting their canvases. It was soooo nice to have a stress free craft that they could really do themselves from start to finish and not be able to mess up in anyway, success! Getting the hand prints to show up proved a little more challenging than I expected, but if we didn't like it we just wiped it off, repainted and tried again!
With 5 people coexisting under 1 roof, you can imagine the pandemonium that erupts from time to time. This is the story of the day to day activities that make up life for the Price Family!

Awesome! I love the idea of "mommy school". We may try it, too. The project looks very sweet, and I bet they had a blast. I love "capturing" hand and foot prints in art projects.
Great Idea. I keep saying I will have time in the day for learning, but haven't figured out how to do it. You are such a great mom!
These are the types of things that you will keep forever...and someday your kids will say "what are you keeping those things for?..." and you will remember that day like it was yesterday and just smile to yourself and put them back into the box and keep it safe forever. I like that you put their names on them. Slip the dates onto the back of the canvas, too.
you're so creative. what is the tuition for mommy school? i'd love to send my kids to you. way to go the extra mile. i loved the tag about trent too. you have a way with words and i love to read your blog.
I'm so impressed! Really-what it the tuition for mommy school? I am so jealous that my kids don't have a mom that will do all those cool things-Way to go Millie!
Tuition is FREE...if you come to visit!!!
I'm totally going to do this craft with my girls. Brielle will LOVE it! She loves any and all crafts. What a great idea to have Mommy school. You'll have to keep putting up all your ideas so we can steal them. :)
