UNinvited House Guest
Trent and Luke were digging around in our front hall closet looking for their baseball mitts and Luke spied an intruder of the four legged kind. I was preparing a bath for Carley and missed the initial commotion, but Trent yelled to me, "there is a lizard, a big one, in the front closet!" At first I was like, "so, get it out." But he did say that it was big, so I went to investigate. All I could see was the tail sticking out in between a few boxes and suitcases, it was a pretty long tail. So Trent went to work setting up barriers around the closet, making a path to the front door for our little house guest. The kids and I were all holding couch cushions and I of course went to grab the camera. Trent got him to come out of the closet and after a few blockades by the broom he finally made his exit out the front door. It all happened really quickly and then he was gone into the garden. Luke and Emry thought it was pretty exciting, I think secretly they wanted to keep him in the closet as a pet....not happening.

How exciting! My kind of adventure...and probably just the start of many more for you and yours.
OMG. I would freak out. That is crazy. You'd think you were living in Arizona or something.
okay...freak out time. that would have killed me. gecko/lizard type things are my only phobia. glad to hear life is moving along. i love barriers that you guys set up.
I kinda thought the lizard was gonna be bigger. I was a little sad about his size. Hugo came over to look at your blog with me and kept asking, "What's that" over and over. We talked about the lizard. When he saw Trent - he called him Poppa. We talked about cousin Lukas and cousin Emry. When Carly's photo scrolled up he said, "baby!" I suppose it is time for a Hugo size family photo album. Who knows when we'll see you in person . . .
It was nice to finally see your photo wall.
Wow that is exciting! Lizards seem fun, now furry creatures-that's another story. We had lizards crawling under our door in Mexico and hide under the dresser-weird. I bet the kids wanted to keep him. Hee Hee. :)
ya, he didn't end up being as big as trent initially thought, i should have put that in the post...what was i thinking??
How exciting for the kids to have a little house guest! Kind of freaky for the parents but at least the kids get a thrill out of it!
That pretty much would have sent me over the edge. Waaaaaaaay over the edge. I'm happy to see it was such an adventure...hope Mr. Lizard decides to stay in the garden from now on.
I could totally see you guys all excited about the lizard. I would be totally freaking out--and so would my girls. Robbie would think it was the coolest thing in the world. Glad you guys had an unexpected adventure!
